BIOGRAPHY
Mary Hope Darrow was born October 21, 1881 at Fargo, the daughter of E.M. and Clara (Dillon) Darrow. She attended the local schools and graduated from the North Dakota Agricultural College in 1904 with a degree in chemistry. She married Dr. Ralph E. Weible on June 28, 1905. He was a long-time Fargo physician. They had four children, David, Ralph, Agnes and Clara. A life-long resident of Fargo, Mrs. Weible took a very active interest in the affairs of Fargo. She was involved in women's rights, cultural programs, education, health standards and welfare to name a few. In 1960 she received the NDSU Alumni Achievement Award and in 1963 a new women's dormitory was named Weible Hall in her honor at NDSU. She died March 4, 1965 at Fargo. Dr. Weible had died in 1942.

SCOPE AND CONTENT
This small collection of Mary Darrow Weible Papers consist of several newspaper clippings on Mrs.
Weible well as her mother's obituary and her brother, Frank's. The interview by Mr. Sackett in 1956
concerns the Weible family and their farm at Hunter, N.D. as well as on Dr. Ralph E. Weible and the
Darrow family.
The theater-related material contains two bound volumes of programs for the Fargo Opera House. The
first volume covers 1894 to 1899 with the first issues for the Hagaman Opera House. The second volume
is issues of The Theatre for the years 1899 to 1908, neither volume is complete. A second set of opera
house programs from 1899-1911 can be found in the Fargo Opera House Programs (Mss 62) collection.
The legal documents are copies related to the incorporation, leasing and selling of the Fargo Orpheum
Theatre to the Fargo Theatre Company.
