The U.S. Census 1880 for Winnebago County should have Lecuyer/Leque/Laque/Legue entries. Winnebagoland Genealogical Society indices have a Leque marriage in 1866, Legue births in 1878, 1887, and 1891, and Legue marriage in 1894. I have been looking at the 1880 index available at www.familysearch.org, but I have not yet been able to guess how the censustaker misspelled the name in 1880. Has anyone seen entries? Any other information about this family?
