Sorry I wasn't terribly prompt in replying to your previous message. My computer died and I had to get a replacement (a refurbished one, but with 8 GB instead of the 4 GB my old, and now dead, computer had.) I still have to re-install a lot of software and my files to this new machine. Fortunately, I back up my files daily on a portable hard drive, so I don't think any "stuff" has been lost.

I'll see if I can do more "digging" into the Canadian records for the Bates family. I have a Canadian cousin (from a family line of my father), who may be able to give me some tips on where to look. He lives in Kitchener, Ontario (in what was known as Waterloo County, Ontario - Waterloo Co. was dissolved as a governmental unit in 1973 - now known as the Regional Municipality of Waterloo.)

I don't recall meeting Catherine Christianson.
