Seeking information on any of these people in Wisconsin early on. My gg2 grandfather d.y. probably en route to WI. Almira (family name) and Clarissa could (guessing) be a brother's children. Any sons must have married along the way west from New York. Looking for any descendants:
Almira LAURENCE & William S. ROOT married in Waukesha County, WI, October 21, 1847. Clarissa LAURENCE & James J. TEW/TREW? both of Brookfield mar April 10, 1855. Amanda LAWRENCE & Tobias OSBURN mar 1845. All seem to have gone from Wisconsin. Uncle Alec and Aunt Dalinda KENT LAWRENCE of Brookfield are buried in Prairie Home Cemetery. In WI by 1848. Dalinda was dau of Peleg and Alice KENT who are bur in Rathbun Cemetery, Chautauqua Co., NY. The two known daughters of Alec were Alice b 1835 NY and Sabra b 1838 NY. Where did Alice go? Sabra w/o Augustus SPRINGSTEAD Jr was widowed during the Civil War. Also bur Prairie Home. The Springsteads and Lawrences seemed to travel together. The family spent some time in MI before arriving in Kenosha - then to Brookfield. They were on adjoining farms in Brookfield. Neighbors were J HOWARD, O. S. RATHBUN, F and R PHILLIPS, E OSBURN, familiar Chaut Co NY surnames.
