I am seeking information on Fred Haas, whose surname was changed during his son's (Fred Hess) lifetime to Hess, who was the grandfather of my grandmother, Hella Hess, of Shell Lake, Wisconsin. She married John Leonard Johnson from Turtle Lake and later moved to Madison with him. They had four children: Donald L. Johnson, Jack Hess Johnson, Margorie Johnson, and Beverly Ann Johnson
