An article in the Ironwood Daily Globe (Ironwood. Michigan) of Friday May 30, 1930 about the Coroners Inquest states the following: "The jury in the Harper case found that the Mercer man died from strychnine that was given to him by some unknown person." Because of that conclusion the District Attorney would not have charged Mrs. Harper with a crime in this instance.
There is a notice in the Ironwood newspaper sometime in 1932 about a divorce being put on the court docket for the Harper's.
Wisconsin is not a death penalty state.
