Willie A. Maas, age 88 of Rt. 1, Gresham died Thursday, Jan.
12, 1995 at his home. He was born Aug. 12, 1906 in the Town of Seneca, Shawano County. The son of the late August F. and Katherine (Heins) Maas. He was united in marriage on March 24, 1930 in Milwaukee to the former Sylvia Schreiber, she preceded him in death on March 24, 1986. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gresham, where he served as High Priest of the church. The couple owned and operated a dairy farm in the Town of Herman, he was a mechanic for the Chevrolet Garage of Shawano, was a logger, and a farm equipment repair man.
Survivors include: a daughter, Beverly (Donald) Dubis, of Adams, Mass.; a son, Theron (Yvonne) Maas, of New Berlin; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Orline Maas, of Gresham, Eli (Lucille) Maas, of Gresham, and Melvin (Oeanette) Maas, of Seymour. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 16 at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with the Bishop Stephen Jensen officiating. Burial to take place in the Roosevelt Cemetery. Friends may call at the Bom-Swedberg Funeral Home, Gresham on Sunday, Jan. 15 from 4-8 p.m. and Monday after 10 am at the church until the time of services.
