OBITUARY EXTRACTION:
NAME & ADDRESS:
Milan Thiex, age 82, of Birnamwood, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 30,2003 at Antigo.
BIRTH & PARENTS:
He was born on Sept. 21,1921 in the Township of Almon, the son of the late Peter and
Alma (Leiskau) Thiex.
EARLY YEARS & MARRIAGE:
He married Carmen Schmidt on June 2,1949 in the Town of Seneca.
INTERESTS - EMPLOYMENT:
Milan served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Corregidor in the Asiatic Pacific Area in 1945 and 1946. He owned a milk route for Consolidated Badger in Wittenberg. They lived in the Town of Almon for a few years and in 1951 bought a farm in the Town of Hutchins where he resided the rest of his life.
Milan was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served as a district councilor in the Appleton-Wisconsin District for 15 years, second counselor in the Lyndhurst Branch presidency and president of the Antigo Branch for nine years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, telling jokes, playing baseball and watching football games. He played on many All-Star teams during his active baseball years, and maintained a batting average of .456 in one of those years.
SURVIVORS:
Survivors include, his wife, Carmen, one daughter, Lanell Paiser of Bowler, one son, Curtis Thiex of Birnamwood, five grandchildren; Kevin (Trisha) Paiser of Bowler, Rachel (Jason) Davids of Shawano, Eliza (Tony) Bierman of Marion, Jamie Paiser and Bethany Paiser of Bowler, three great-grandchildren; Schuylar and Caleb Davids and Ashley Bierman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers.
FUNERAL SERVICES AND BURIAL:
Funeral services will be held at The Church of Latter Day Saints in Gresham at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3,2003 with president Brian Raddant officiating. Friends may call at the Swedberg Funeral Home, Gresham on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday at tt church from 10 a.m. to the time of the services. Interment will be in the Roosevelt Cemetery.
