Hanstedt, Orville E.

Orville Hanstedt, 79, Pulaski, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at home. He was born Dec. 20, 1923, in the Town of Angelica to the late Henry and Hattie (Specht) Hanstedt. Orville married Hertha Bohm in 1945. She preceded him in death in 1987. In December of 1989, he married Marjorie Durkee. Orville farmed in Angelica and Zachow. He worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad for 34 years, retiring at the age of 62. He was a member of the Railroad Union and an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Town of Angelica, where he served on the Church Board. Orville enjoyed traveling, playing cards, reading westerns and watching the Green Bay Packers. He loved woodworking and many of his projects were given to family and friends. They will always be treasured.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; four daughters, six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Joan Hanstedt, Milwaukee and her daughter, Katrina Vollman and step-grandchildren, Tracy Jepson and George Vollman; Sherry (Fred) Brusda, Kewaunee and their children, Lindsay Brusda and Dana (Brian) Bellin, their daughter, Lydia; Lorrie (John) Beimborn, Greenleaf and their daughter, Heidi; Paris (Erich) Emmel, Green Bay and their sons, Alek and Jax; five step-children, Gena (Herbert) Geng, Las Vegas; David (Kay) Durkee, Wausau; Douglas Durkee, Green Bay; Dale (Renee) Durkee, Wausau; and Scott (Amy) Durkee, Wausau; five step-grandchildren two step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bernice Helein, Appleton.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Beatrice Zernicke.

The funeral service will be Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at 12 noon at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Church Rd., Zachow, with Pastor Philip Geiger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Zachow on Saturday from 9 a.m. to the time of service. Wendt Funeral Home, Bonduel, is in charge of arrangements.
