RITES SATURDAY FOR FRED HOHN
Funeral services for Frederick Frank HOHN, 83, will be held Saturday at 2:30 PM at the Elias Lutheran church in the town of Herman. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Hohn was born Feb. 9, 1874 in the province of Brandenburg, Germany and at the age of 3 months, came to America with his parents and settled in the town of Herman where he spent the remainder of his life. He was confirmed in the Bethlehem Lutheran church at Pella by Rev. Schwan and was united in marriage to Mathilda Dahms on Oct. 24. 1899. They had 3 children: the eldest died in infancy, Ernst of the town of Bartelme and Elmer on the home farm. His wife died in June, 1931. On Sep. 24, 1931 he was married to Ella Wenzel who survives.
Other survivors include a brother, Gustave, town of Herman, 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Two brothers and 2 sisters preceded him in death.
Besides his farm work, Mr. Hohn served on the school and town boards, was active in church affairs and served on juries several times.
