SHAWANO COUNTY ADVOCATE Tuesday, June 9 1908 (LEOPOLIS)
It is sad, indeed it is, to see one old friend after another called away from this world for a better, but such is the fate of mankind. As noted hereto-fore in these columns, AUG. FAEHRMAN was stricken with a fatal disease and his sufferings were ended last Sunday. The writer enjoyed the continued uninterrupted friendship of the decedent for upwards of 20 years and always found him upright in every way, cordial in his social intercourse and scrupulously honest to a penny in his pecuniary dealings. His fellow citizens honored him with various church and town offices; he was one of the directors of the Pella Fire Ins. Co. and all the trusts reposed in him were looked after in a business-like and conscientious manner. The esteem in which he was held by his neighbors and friends was attested by the large funeral cortege from the Lutheran church, Rev. E.C. Stubenvoll officiating.
The survivors are the stricken widow, two sons Otto and Will and five daughters, Amelia, Minnie, Annie, Alma and Martha (Mrs. Herman Eggert) who have the sincere sympathy of all in the loss of their protector, who was always solicitous of their welfare.
