Eli E. Maas
Eli E. Maas, age 85, N6794 Campground Road, Gresham, died Sunday, September 15, 2002, at Veterans Hospital in Milwaukee.
He was born Jan. 11, 1917, in Tilleda, the son of the late August F. and Katherine (Heins) Maas. He was married on June 7, 1941, in the Town of Seneca to Lucille Schreiber. He lived in the Gresham area most of his life. He served with the United States Navy during World War II. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gresham. He enjoyed doing Temple work, playing softball as a young man, bowling and the outdoors.
He is survived by: his wife, Lucille; one son, Garren (Becky) Maas of Orem, Utah; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Orline Maas and Melvin (Jeanette) Maas. He was preceded in death by two infant daughters, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 20, at 1 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gresham with Bishop Jeffrey Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in the Roosevelt Cemetery in the Town of Seneca. Friends may call at Swedberg Funeral Home in Gresham today from 6 until 8 p.m. and from noon on Friday at the church until the time of the services.
