Arlin Redmann

Arlin Redmann, 88, of the town of Belle Plaine, died Friday, March 16, 2012. Born on Oct. 14, 1923, in the town of Belle Plaine, he is the son of the late Edward and Anna (Kersten) Redmann. On May 26, 1951, Arlin was united in marriage to Elda Tamm. He owned and operated his own dairy farm most of his life and was on the Shawano Equity Board for three years. Arlin was a 4-H leader, a lifelong supporter of the Shawano County Fair and one of the original instructors in Shawano County for the Hunter Safety Course. Arlin was a dedicated husband, loving father, avid gardener and passionate flower grower. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Shawano.

He is survived by his wife, Elda of Shawano; four children, Linda Redmann Welch (husband, James Newcomb) of Ripon, Peg Lane of Whitefish Bay, Randy Redmann of Shawano, Steven (Diane) Redmann of Shawano; 10 grandchildren, John "Alex" Welch, Christopher Welch, Kersten Welch, Amanda (Kyle) Thorson, Erica Redmann, Michael Redmann (special friend, Lindsey Jones), Maggie Lane, Brendan Lane, Christian Lane, Sarah Lane; great-grandson Dominick Thorson; two sisters, Rosemund (Robert) Anderson of Skokie, Ill., and Norma (Jerome) Blank of Illinois; three sisters-in-law, Bernice Tamm, Shirley Redmann and Marcella Redmann.

Arlin is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at the Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Shawano with the Rev. James Naumann officiating. Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Monday at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Manor Care for the wonderful care they provided for Arlin.
