Gary E. Green
Gary E. Green, Age 77 of Cecil, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, June 30, 2009 at the Shawano Medical Center.
Gary was born on June 29, 1932 in Crawford, Iowa a son of the late Fred and Dorothy (Trindle) Green. He attended school in Hammond, Wis., graduating from Hammond High School in 1950. On June 28, 1952 , Gary was united in marriage to the former Rose Bishop in River Falls, WI. Gary was then drafted by the United States Army, serving as a Military Policeman during the Korean War. Upon returning from the service, the couple made their home for many years in Ellsworth, Wis., moving to Cecil in 2003. Gary had been employed as a press mechanic for the American Can Company in St Paul, Minn. for many years. He retired in 1993. In retirement he loved to hunt, fish and golf, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved to tackle home projects.
Survivors include: his wife Rose of Cecil; two children, Brian (Dawn) Green of Lebanon, Conn., and Kimberly (Andrew) Daniel of Shawano; three grandchildren, Caitlin, Isabell and Abigail.
Gary was preceded in death by one brother, Darwin Green.
A gathering of relatives and friends to share memories and celebrate the life of Gary Green will be held on Friday, July 3, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Schroeder-Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano. Private family interment will be held in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Shawano.
