Alyce M. Raguse, age 79 of 302
Madison Way,
Shawano passed away on Wednesday July 1, 2009 at the
Appleton Medical Center.
She was born Alyce Mae
Bergner on Dec. 20, 1929 in Oconto County, daughter of the late Albert &
Lora (Koeppen)
Bergner. The
Bergner family moved to
Shawano in 1936 where she attended St James Lutheran School and graduated from the
Shawano High School in 1947. On Aug. 19, 1949 she was united in marriage to William
Raguse, he preceded her in death on April 28, 2001. She was employed as a secretary at
Hotz Manufacturing for 45 years, retiring in 1992. Alyce enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, attending exercise classes, was an avid fan of the Green
Bay Packers and member of the Red Hat Society. She was an active and faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church and volunteered to serve on the finance committee, pony express committee and
Orphan Grain Train.
Survivors include: brother and sister-in-law
Elroy "
Butch" and Beverly
Bergner of Shawano; sister-in-law LaVerna
Bergner, Green
Bay and several nieces & nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Evie (Joe)
Stark,
Mavis (Norman)
Wollen, Henrietta (George)
Friedrich, brother Albert
Bergner, Jr.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church with
Pastor Ronald
Raddatz, officiating. Interment at the Lake Drive Cemetery, Town of
Wescott. Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. on Monday at the Church till the time of services. Schroeder-Mickelson Funeral

Shawano is in charge of thearrangements. Memorial Funds for the St. James Lutheran Church and School have been established in her memory.
