Leslie Harvey Kroening, age 35, of W13340 Cherry St., Bowler, died on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003.
He was born on March 7, 1967, in Clintonville, the son of Harvey and Linda (Miller) Kroening. Les graduated from Bowler High School in 1985. He served in the United States Marines from 1987 until 1992 and was a combat veteran during Desert Storm. On June 22, 1994, he married Carol (Cutshaw) Kroening in Las Vegas. He enjoyed spending time with his children and family, fishing, hunting, his Harley Davidson, and making people laugh.
He is survived by: his wife, Carol; his children, Kayla, Lucas, Cheyenne; his parents, Harvey and Linda Kroening; his brother, Craig (Rhonda) Kroening; his sisters, LaiLonnie (Marty) Kosowski, LaNette Kroening, LaVonne (Bernard) Rudesill; his grandmother, Bernice Miller; father and mother-in-law, Clayton and Ruth Cutshaw; brothers-in-law, Rick (Annette) Cutshaw, Allen (Chris) Cutshaw, Clayton (Tess) Cutshaw; sister-in-law, Jean (Doug) Cutshaw; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by: his grandfather, Arvid E. Miller; his grandparents, Alex and Julia Kroening; his great-niece, Nyasia Spencer; his godson, Pewehsen.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Les and Carol Kroening residence, W13340 Cherry Street, Bowler, with the Rev. Stephen Shriner and Alton "Sonny" Smart officiating.
Burial will be in Stockbridge Indian Burial Grounds. Friends may call at the family residence from now until the time of the service. A prayer service and veteran service will be held at 7 this evening and a wake service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
