Rev. E. Burfiend, Former Shawano Area Pastor Dies

Rev. Edwin Burfiend, 69, of Grafton Died December 10.

He was born January 17, 1905 at Sweet Springs, Missouri and attended Immanuel Lutheran School at Sweet Springs , St. Paul's College at Condordia, Missouri and Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, he graduated in 1931, and was married July 5, 1931 to Anna Meyer, three children were born to this union, two girls and one boy. He is survived by Mrs. Burfiend and the three children.

Rev. Burfiend was ordained into the Holy Ministry in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Engadine, Michigan, which congregation he served until 1938. In 1938 he accepted a call to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, R. 2. Shawano and Zion Lutheran Church, Gresham until 1947 when he accepted a call to Bethany Lutheran Church at Kohler, Wis. In 1955 he accepted a call to St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Grafton, Wis., which church he served until the time of his death on Tuesday, December 10.

Friends may call at the Mueller Funeral Home in Grafton from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 on thursday and from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
