Kenneth Powless, 59, of 1184 Western Avenue, Green Bay, died Tuesday morning, Aug. 28, 2001 at home, following a lengthy illness. The son of Marcella (Sickles) Powless and the late Peter Powless was born Sept. 28, 1941 in Tigerton, Wis. Ken served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He had most recently worked at the North Central Health Care Facility in Wausau. Mr. Powless was a member of the Oneida VFW, Robert W. Cornelius Post.

Survivors include his mother, Marcella Powless, Oneida; one brother, Matthew and Sheila Powless, Bowler; one sister, Sharon Funmaker, Oneida; Special friend, Carol; two sons, Kenneth and Rosa Powless, De Pere; George Powless, Oneida; six grandchildren; two aunts, Mildred Butler, Tigerton; Noreen Wilbur, Green Bay; one uncle, Luke Stevens, Oneida; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Iris; aunts and uncles.

Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Oneida Indian Singing will begin at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Freedom Road, Oneida, until time of service. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Church with Kevin Cornelius, Branch President, presiding. Burial services will be held on Friday afternoon at Roosevelt Cemetery, Gresham.

The family extends a sincere thanks to the staff and nurses at St. Vincent Dialysis Center Dr. Tim from Oneida Health Center, and the Buffalo Healing Lodge from Oneida for all their loving care and concern.
