Mr. Lewis Spencer
Died at his home in this city on Friday, after a short illness, at 1:45, p. m., aged 74 years. Deceased has been resident of this city for about fifty years, coming here from Vermont when a young man. He leaves a wife and four children, having buried two children. His death leaves but two men who were among the first citizens of Evansville who still reside here. These men are his brother, George Spencer and Dr. J. M. Evans. Mr. Spencer has been successful businessman and one who has lived to enjoy in his last days the pleasures that come only to those who have been true to their trusts. Funeral services will take place at the house, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
