Henry Robert (or Robert Henry) Clarson married Sarah Ellen Anderson and had two daughters and a son. He was a farmer according to the 1880 census. He was born circa 1863 presumably at Rockbridge, WI, the second son of John and Anna Clarson.
His father John Clarson was born 1836 at Tamworth, Staffordshire, England and died 1892 at Richland. John's parents were John Clarson senior (1808-1849, bricklayer and builder) and Eliza Willis (1810-1892). John jnr inherited a substantial property on his father's death in 1849, although he had to wait until he was 21 (in 1858) to receive it. John Clarson travelled to the USA early in 1858, landing in New York then travelling to Wisconsin where he spent some months in Waukesha county. He purchased land at Rockbridge, Richland Co, Wisconsin, then returned to England in November 1858. In January 1859 John Clarson jnr married Ann (Anna/Annie? Cooke/Cook, daughter of Joseph, a blacksmith, at St Peter, Congleton, Cheshire. John was aged 22, a farmer. Witnesses included Robt W and Sarah A Clarson - John's brother and sister-in-law. In February 1859 John and Anna returned to Rockbridge, WI where he cleared some land and built a "comfortable log house". The 1860 census for Rockbridge Township, Richland Co, Wisconsin, included James 26, farmer born in England; Mary 17 born in Wisconsin; John 22 farmer born in England; Ann 22 born in England and John 9mo, born in Wisconsin. James and John were brothers.
