At the home of his son, Marion Poole, in the city on Tuesday morning occurred the death of Nicholas Poole, at an age of past 98 years. He was the oldest resident of the county in years, and had resided in the county for about seventy years. At the time of publication funeral arrangements had not been made.

OBITUARY -- POOLE
Nicholas Poole was born in Fairfield county, Ohio, March 10, 1828. He departed this life May 18, 1926 at the home of his son, Marion, with whom he has resided for the past twenty years. He was ninety-eight years, two months and eight days old. Perhaps the oldest citizen in the county.
He was the son of John and Mary Poole. At the age of fourteen years he moved with his parents to Ogle county, Jerman (sic) and James, of Fancy Creek; Mrs. Robert Stayton, of Appleton, Minn.; Perry, David, Hiram, Mrs. Arthur Drought and Marion of Richland Center. Also ninety-three other direct descendents and a large number of friends.
Mr. Poole was a member of the United Brethern church, having united with that church about forty years ago and remained faithful to his belief until the end.
The funeral services were held at the United Brethren church in Richland Center, Thursday, May 20, 1926, at 2:00 p.m., interment being made in the Richland cemetery.
