Franz a.k.a. Frank SIGERIST (dob 1828) emigrated in 1851 from Schaffhausen, Switzerland to America, most likely to Pepin, WI. He married about 1857 he had 2 sons 1.Heinrich in 1859, 2. Franz in 1861. He served in the 16th Wisconsin Infantry. Discharged in or about 1863. His wife died while he was in the Civil War(battle of Corinth?) He remarried after the war a "Graubündtnerin" (possible from Alma)His Br. Carl visited him in August 1877 at his 80 acre farm which was located on Lake Pepin between Pepin and Stockolm. The family diappeared practically without a trace.
