After speaking with my mother, the Ferdinand Scholtes that was my grandfather, was born in 1905 to Nicholas and Barbara Scholtes. They are from Luxembourg and came to the USA when my grandfather was two or three years old. The other family name is Funk, which the Scholtes' married into. The book on our family history was written by one of the Funk ancestors.
