Mathias Kirsch who died in St. Donatus, was my g-grandfather. He had a brother Nicholas Kirsch. The brothers lived for a while in Door County, Wisconsin. There Mathias married Anna C Johansen. They had 2 children, Victorine and Peter. Anna died shortly after the birth of their son and Peter died a short time later.
Mathias married Mary Lux Musel in 1880. They lived in St. Donatus, Iowa and had 4 children: John, Theresa, Josephine and Mary. John was the only one to marry and have children. Theresa and Josephine never married and Mary became a num.
Mathias died in 1923 and is buried in St. Donatus.
