There is a nice list of Milwaukee street name changes, current as of 2002, compiled by Mary P., a contributor to the Links to the Past (
http://www.linkstothepast.com) web site. This is the link to the list:
http://www.linkstothepast.com/milwaukee/mkestreets1.phpThere may have been other street name changes for Milwaukee since then. The most recent street name change in Milwaukee, which I noticed was part of West. Pittsburgh Ave. was renamed as Freshwater Way (sometimes spelled Fresh Water Way) in 2012. Freshwater Way runs west from South 2nd Street until it terminates as a dead end. It was renamed because of a partnership of a number of organizations to create the Global Water Center, which is now located at 247 W. Freshwater Way, Milwaukee (formerly 247 West Pittsburgh Ave. at the corner of South 3rd Street and West Pittsburgh Avenue.) The Global Water Center is focused to rapidly expand Milwaukee’s global presence in water innovation and leadership. If interested, you can read about it here:
