Mary J. Humphrey, 78, 1821 N. Fourth Ave., Wausau, died Tuesday, March 23, 1999, at Marywood Convalescent Center.

Mary was born June 30, 1920, in Wausau, to the late Henry W. and Mabel (Kantes) Wachtl.

She was employed as a secretary and had worked for the U.S. Forestry Department, Wausau Homes, and Terwilliger Wakeen Piehler and Conway Law Firm during her career.

Survivors include one brother, William (Millie) Wachtl, Homosassa, Fla.; one nephew, David W. (Tammy) Wachtl; and one niece, Denise L. Wachtl.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 1999, at Brainard Funeral Home, Wausau. The Rev. Charles Blecha will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Mosinee.
