Mrs. Michahel FRIEDEL

On Saturday evening at eleven o’clock death came to claim Mrs. Michael FRIEDEL, for the past four years a resident of Jefferson. Since her early childhood Mrs. Friedel has lived in this vicinity, living nearly all of her life on a number of farms near Rome.
She had been suffering from various ailments for many years and often seemed to be at death’s door. Again and again she rallied but never to enable her to live other than an invalid’s life. She bore all her sufferintgs fully conscious in her last illness up to the very minute of her release.
Anna Maria BIECK, youngest child of John Andrew BIECK, was born at Wissenbach, Wurtember, on March 11, 1849. With her parents and five surviving brothers and sisters she came to Helenville in 1853, where she grew up and was confirmed. Here at Helenville she was united in marriage with Michael FRIEDEL in April 1872.
The family had six children, all of which remain and all of which came to their mother’s bedside during her last illness.
They are: Mrs. Mary BREDLOW, Helenville; Mrs. Anna MEISTER, Jefferson; John FRIEDEL, Sullivan; Mrs. Emma
SCHUMACHER, Beloit; Mrs. Helen KRAHNKE, Beloit; and Miss Lillian FRIEDEL, who remained at home with her parents and nursed her mother throughout the long years of her infirmity. There are also nine grandchildren and numbrous more distant relatives who with many old friends and neighbors mourn the loss of Mrs. FRIEDEL.
The funeral was held from the Lutheran church on Wednesday afternoon. Interment made in the Union
Cemetery.
