From the newspaper Reform, Eau Claire, 24 June 1919 (trans.): A. H. Hollen, the well known clothing dealer here in the city, died Thursday afternoon at Luther hospital. According to the daily paper, he suffered a heart attack and was brought to the hospital a while ago. His death was the result of a new attack. Andrew H. Holen was born in Hedalen, Gudbrandsdalen, in Norway in 1854. His Norwegian name was Einar Hollen. He came to America with his parents in 1862 and the family first lived in La Crosse. At 19 years old he came to Eau Claire where he was a salesman in a clothing store and in 1877 he started his own business. In the old days Hollen was one of the leaders among the Norwegians in Eau Claire and known by all. In later years he wasn't as active. He was a very intelligent man and knew the art of dealing with people of all classes. He leaves three sons and two daughters,--Dr. Henry Hollen in Los Angeles, lawyer Richard Hollen in Chicago and the son Stanley, who was previously in military service in WW I. The two daughters, Cora and Alma live at home. It is anticipated that the son Stanley will take over his father's business, since he has for many years had a leading position in a large clothing firm in Chicago and therefore is acquainted with the business. The funeral took place Saturday and was private. (The poster is not related).
