Surnames: Gossink, Te Kloeze, Van der Velde
Jenneken (TE KLOEZE) GOSSINK (widow) came from Henxel, Gelderland Province, Holland, at the age of 52, with her children, Gesiena Willemina, Gerrit Willem, Hendrik Jan, Hendrik, Johanna Aleyda, and (my great-grandmother) Janna Geertruid (1841-1922) in 1848. According to Janna's obit, they went almost immediately to Milwaukee, but I am unable to find them in the 1850 census anywhere in WI. Janna was married 15 Oct 1859 in Randolph Center to Charles VAN DER VELDE and then left with a contingent of Dutch settlers to Hickman, Lancaster Co., NE. According to an 1880 map, Randolph Center is NOT the same as Randolph (which lies on the Columbia/Dodge Counties border), lying squarely in Randolph Twp. NNE of Cambria. (I am unable to find Randolph Center on any modern maps). Where would her marriage record be? There is a John (Hendrik Jan??) GOSSINK in Randolph, Columbia Co. in both the 1860 & 1870 censuses and Gerrit GOSSINK is in Holland, Sheboygan Co. in the 1860 census. (There are still GOSSINKS living in Fox Lake, I believe). Have completely lost Jenneken GOSSINK and can find no mention of her again ANYWHERE. HELP!! Have traced her family in Holland back to 1703 and would be very happy to share with descendants of hers.
