My Shilts family came from Vaake, Hofgeismar, Kassel, Germany. Matthias and his brother Daniel were Hessian Soldiers fighting for ENgland during the Rev. War. They were hired by ENgland and served in General Von Bose Regiments. Matthias was in the 5th company, Daniel in the 2nd. Matthias stayed here after the war, Daniel returned to Germany. I don';t know if our information matches along the way or not. The name was changed several times durint the years and ours is now Shults. It was Schild, Shilts, Shiltz, Shultz, Schultz and many other ways. I would be glad to exchange information with you.
