I am trying to find information for my great grandmother and great grandfather who immigrated from Sweden around 1868 and were married in Cook Co., IL on 12/27/1872. Names on their marriage license are Franz Herrman Qvarfot and Johanna Mathilda Kihlborg. They are listed on the Burnett Co. census for 1880 through 1910. They had 10 children: Frank D., Tilda, Charles, Hanna, Harry, Minnie, William, Julia, Paul Edwin and my grandmother, Ruth Elizabeth. I have found documents listing the Quarfoot name as Qvarfot, Quarford, Quarfordt, etc. and Johanna (who went by Tilda) has the last names of Kilberg, Kihlborg, Kalberg, Kelberg. I have an estimated death year of 1918 for Franz (Frank) but no death for Tilda. Also, my one living relative is sure that her grandfather lived with them until his death in the 1920's and they called him Charlie. This makes no sense with the other info I have but she is quite sure it was her grandfather Quarfoot. If anyone has any info I'd love to hear from you. My father also grew up in Grantsburg until WWII. His name was Douglas Wedin. He was born in Grantsburg on 9/22/1920.
