I grew up in McMechen. Local lore says it's near the area where the RR tracks southward out of town and the highway diverge-- just south of what was recently a golfing range. I've never seen a marker. There is a "run" or a creek that flows down and empties into the river where the cement/gravel plant is now, but I can't recall what we called that creek. I haven't lived there for 25 years. I'll make some calls back home to find out and post.

Grave Creek is certainly farther south in Moundsville. There's no way to confuse McMechen and Moundsville-- they're quite a distance apart.
