Harry N. Rhodes, 71, of Point Pleasant, W.Va., died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 1995, at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington.
He was employed as the Inspector for the City of Point Pleasant; a retired employee of the Betsy Ross Baking Company, where he had worked for 25 years; a former member of the Point Pleasant City Council, where he served for 16 years; a former Chief Deputy Sheriff of Mason County; the Chairman of the Harry Rhodes Gospel Sing - Mason County Fair; a member of the Bellemead United Methodist Church, where he had served for many years as the Sunday School Superintendent; and attended the Beech Hill United Methodist Church.
Born Dec. 7, 1923, in Gay, W.Va., he was a son of the late Cyrus A. and Alda Mae (Tolley) Rhodes.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Ann 'Mary' (Roush) Rhodes; three daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine Huffman of Point Pleasant, W.Va., Harriette and Ozzie Finley of Point Pleasant, W.Va., Addie and Roger Hopson of Beech Hill, W.Va.; one brother, William Harold Rhodes of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Naomi Neville of Racine, Ohio; five grandchildren, Jim and Jaime Huffman, Jerry and Ozzie (Jr.) Finley, and Allyson Finley Ey; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 13, 1995, at the Crow Hussell Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with the Rev. Justin Moran and Rev. Eugene Garlow officiating. Burial will follow in the Beech Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 12, 1995, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
