Ambers Acord
KOPPERSTON — Ambers Acord, 74, departed this life Saturday, May 17, 2008, following a long illness.
Born April 30, 1934, at Crouch’s Farm, he was the son of the late Jack and Mary Acord.
Ambers was a retired coal miner. He was also a Christian and has entered into his new life with Christ.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Acord and Buford “Mick” Acord.
Those left to cherish his memory are two sons, Edward Acord and his wife, Kathy, of Clear Fork and Clifford “Pig” Acord and his wife, Lori, of Kopperston; two brothers, John Acord of Lynco and Bobby Acord and his wife, Phyllis, of Crouch’s Farm; two sisters, Lucille Varney and her husband, Bob, of Oceana and Betty Johnson and her husband, Mike, of Daniels; two sisters-in-law, Helen Acord of Oceana and Shirley Acord of Toney Fork; six grandchildren, Melissa Acord, Eddie Acord and his wife, Paula, of Kopperston, Kristy Acord and her life partner Maurice McKenzie of Ocea-na, Kaula Acord of Kopperston, Joseph Jude and his wife, Charity Faith, of Petersburg, Va., and Jessica Crouse and her husband, Bobby, of Lynco; nine great-grandchildren, Andrew Rollins, Theodore Acord, Francis Mckensize Jr., Danielle Acord, Ethan Acord, Zackery Crouse, Alexis Crouse, Rebecca Jude, and Courtney Jude; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
A celebration of Ambers’ life will be 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Adam Toler Memorial Chapell with Revs. Herb Cook and Russell Church officiating. Burial will follow in Acord Cemetery, Clear Fork, W.Va.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service today.
Services entrusted to Adam Toler Memorial Funeral Home, Oceana.
