I need some assistance clearing up a mystery.
I am researching Lovina/Lavina/Lavinia Neale who was born in
Wood county, West Virginia 3 April 1858. She dies at age 54 and 5 days, 11 April 1912, in Cleveland, Ohio. Her death cert. states she is the daughter of Charity Burrels and Harding Kneel which is probable Hardin Neale misspelled. She is African American but may have been considered Mulatto. She named her only daughter LULA. She married a wealthy man named Nelson Gant I believe in Parkersburg.
She may have had a connection with the A.M.E. church.
