I did a search on Ancestry.com for Daniel Corbin in Wood Co., VA in the 1850 census. The only record that came up for VA was the following:

Littleton D. Corbin 39 Farmer VA
Mary M. 30 VA
Seth M. 7 VA
Daniel D. 4 VA
Matilda H. 2 VA
Margaret Stockley 18 VA

That same family is found in the 1860 Census, same location, several more children.

I searched for Corbins in Wood Co., VA in the 1860 Census and came up with this:
