I found the following obituary in an old scrapbook that belonged to my great aunt, Inez Holtz. Inez's mother was Elmira Hughes who had a brother James Madison Hughes, both who also died in Parkersburg, WV. If anyone has information regarding this Hughes family, please email me. Thanks! John J. Hughes of 1704 Lawrence street, died suddenly at his home this morning at 11:30 o'clock of a heart attack. Mr. Hughes was 54 years old and for several years had been employed by the Monogahela West Penn Public Service company. He has been a resident of this city for the past 30 years. Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife, Mrs. Juliet Hughes, one daughter, Anna Louise Hughes, a student at De Sales Heights academy; one son, Charles E. Hughes, who is enlisted in the United States navy as a radio operator and is now located in China; two sisters, Mrs. George Bonnett of this city and Mrs. Fred Boyce of Akron, Ohio.
