Showalter, Betty Ruth, 80, of Rivesville, W.Va., formerly of Smithfield and Clarksburg, died February 7, 2008, at the United Hospital Center, Clarksburg.

She was a Methodist by faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Dale Showalter; her parents, Rossel and Orda Pearl Smith Edgell; and two sisters, Agnes Moore and Mary Alice Edgell.

Surviving are one son, Stephen (Karen) Showalter of Fredrick, Md.; a daughter, Terri (Michael) DeMicco of Rivesville; two grandchildren, Michael Dale DeMicco and Kari Lynn DeMicco.

Friends were received 6-9 p.m. Feb. 10 at Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove, where services were held Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Alan Flaitz officiating. Interment in the Edgell Cemetery, Smithfield.
