Gainer, Howard L., 73, of Pine Grove, W. Va., died Friday, June 13, 2003 in Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, Ohio.

He was born July 15, 1929 in Reader, W. Va., the son of the late Glenn and Panseye Gainer.

He was retired from Ormet Corportation, Hannibal, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo Bates Gainer on July 2, 1997; a grandson, Justin Reed Gainer; and a sister, Freda Sapp.

Surviving are two sons, Phillip Gainer of Fairmont, W. Va. and Ralph Gainer of Pine Grove, W. Va.; two daughters, Gloria Fluharty of Piney and Glenda Gainer of Pine Grove; and four grandchildren, Kellena Fluharty Miracle of N. C., Bobby Fluharty of Piney and Ralphie and William Gainer, both of Pine Grove.

There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Pine Grove, W. Va.
