My Grandmother and I have did a cemetery reading on
Smith Cemetery and we keep it up to date. In 1999 my Grandmother, My husband, father-in-law, daughter, and I began decorating the graves of all veterans in this cemetery. Two large American Flags and two patriotic ribbons will greet you at the entrance of the
Abraham Smith Cemetery on Memorial Day weekend. Also, all soldiers graves are decorated with a small American Flag. Only 25 soldiers graves have been found, so the other 16 flags are placed at the entrance on the cemetery with a memorial sign. Flags were donated in 1999 by
Virginia "Tootsie"
