I am interested in finding the Croston/Male ancestry that is associated with the term, "Black
Dutch." One or more of
Augustus Croston's sons (1700s) married and produced a line of people known as the "Black
Dutch," and another or more son(s) produced a line of people known as the "Leathernecks." I would like information on these two lines; which sons were involved with which lineage types (Black
Dutch vs. Leathernecks). Some of them moved to
Taylor County at some point in history, from
Barbour County. Thank you for your help with this mystery.
