I don't have any idea if the following person is related. But this thread reminded me of some information I found when researching my family history.

Claiborne Curtis was listed among Raleigh County pioneers in a 1950 news article. “He was an able minister of the Christian Church…came to Raleigh County from Pulaski County, Va., and settled in Cranberry Branch in 1847…first minister of his denomination in that region.
