Craigs in Mason County

am looking for information on Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Craig. He was born July 30, 1817 in Mason County and died April 22, 1907 in Grundy County, MO. He married Malinda Booram. Family history stays that he was the son of Rachael Harrison born in Mason Co VA (daughter of Joseph and Lydia Harrison) and John Craig (son of George and Kitty Kennerly Craig, grandson of Rev. John Craig) It is also family history that Frank and his sister Miriam (married a Kimberling and is buried in Kimberling Cem) were woodscolts (illegimate). I am trying to locate proof that Frank is the son of John and Racheal or that John and Rachel even knew each other. Racheal married Felix Mcley and their family and Frank's family moved to Grundy County MO in the 1840's. John married Dorcas Handley and they lived in Putnam county VA/WV. I live in NH and as of yet have not been able to get to WV to do any research. Any help will be appreciated.
