Looking for information about and photograph of the grave of William McPECK, buried in Herring, WV, possibly Pleasant Grove. William was born 1833, Pennsylvania, and died at age 88 of old age on 17 Oct 1921 in Morgantown, Monongalia, WV. William was a Union soldier during the Civil War. I would like to verify where in Herring he is buried, and nail down the family story about this man's connection to Abraham Lincoln. An obituary would be truly helpful. Any research or copy costs will be gladly reimbursed.

Also buried in Herring is William E. McPECK, Jr, William's son. He was killed by gunshot (murdered ?) the following year, on 17 Nov 1922, at age 55 years old, in Morgantown. Again, any photo of a grave, obituary, or newspaper article will be greatly appreciated.
