My 4th Great Grandmother was Eleanor Lewis, daughter of James Lewis and Unknown. She married James Rodgers in 1828 in Pocahontas County WV.

In a book of historical sketches of Pocahontas County, the author specifically refers to this couple, stating that Eleanor "Nellie" Lewis, 2nd wife of James Rodgers was the Grandaughter of Alexander Waddell.

Does anyone in the Waddell or connected lines know how this could be possible? How is Eleanor Lewis a grandaughter of Alexander Waddell. Any help appreciated

I am also descended from James Rodgers and Eleanor Lewis. I have never tried to trace the Lewis side. I have seen the will of James Lewis. It lists some of Eleanors brothers and sisters. I will see if I can find the name of James Lewis's wife thru one of the other children.
