Looking for members fo the Wamsley family
I am researching the WAMSLEY family that settled in Hillsboro and the Little Levels area.
My known ancestors are Harmon and Rebecca Pritt WAMSLEY and their son Cletus Ray WAMSLEY (b. May 1862).
Cletus had a twin brother Samuel E. There were several sisters:
Lucy Ann and Lucinda (1853),
Nancy Jane (1856) and
Mary (1866).
Cletus married Rebecca Jane Bishop, originally from the Meadow Bluff area of Greenbrier County. Cletus and Rebecca had the following children:
Samuel T. Wamsley (b 4/15/1890 d. 3/29/1985), married
Laura E Hanna – they are my grandparents
George David (1893),
Granville (1896),
Henry (understanding he died early in life)
Retha WAMSLEY Blankenship,
Rachel WAMSLEY, and
Bernice (Burnis) WAMSLEY Brown (1915).
If you have information on any of the above that you would like to share, I would greatly appreciate it.
Lillian
