I am a descendant of Isaac Davis (born 1805 in Monongalia Co., VA/WV; son of Luranah Hudson and Daniel Davis) and his wife Margaret E. Rice or Margaret E. John. Margaret John Rice was married presumably to a Joseph Rice prior to her marriage to Isaac Davis on August 1, 1850 in Monongalia Co., VA/WV. I am looking for information about Margaret John Rice and Joseph Rice's children, who were step-children of Isaac Davis and who were probably born in Monongalia Co., WV or Greene Co., PA. Some of these Rice children lived in Pleasants Co., WV after their mother married Isaac Davis. There names are believed to be as follows:

1.) William J. Rice, born ca 1836

2.) John Rice, born unknown

3.) Manerva/Minerva Rice, born unknown

4.) Joseph/Josephus Rice, born ca 1843 in Monongalia Co., VA; married Mary E. Hart (daughter of James Hart and Matilda Stull) on October 15, 1861 in Pleasants Co., VA.

5.) Coleman/Colman Rice, born unknown

6.) Melissa Rice, born ca 1845


I have some information on Joseph Rice who married Mary E. Hart, but I would like to know more about what happened to the other Rice children. Where did they live? Who did they marry? Some of these children were living with Isaac Davis and Margaret Rice during the 1860 Pleasants Co., VA/WV Census but after that they seem to disappear. Could someone provide some insight about this family???

Also, who was the Andrew Rice (born ca 1850) who was married to Sophrona Unknown and who appears in the Pleasants Co., WV Census records??? Was Andrew Rice related to Margaret John Rice and her children????
