I'm trying to identify a childrens home that existed in the 1880s located between Weirton and Wheeling "up the hill" along the river between these two cities.

My Grandfather was born in 1879 in what we now know as Follansbee, Brooke County, WV. (Around the turn of the century he married Grace DEVORE). For some part of the 1880's he lived in a childrens home (orphange) in Brooke or possibly Ohio County. I'm trying to identify that childrens home hoping it might be the key to understanding his ancestry.

This past week, my Dad ---- at age 87 ---- told me he remembered his father pointing up the hill at this childrens home and saying "That's where I lived". This would have been on the road along the river (WV side) between Weirton and Wheeling.

Grandpa's name later in life was Charles Lyle WRIGHT. One theory is that his mother's surname was LYLE and he got the WRIGHT name from the family that "adopted" him.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
