Looking for information about Lena Belle Toothman, born around 1891 in Monroe County, and the Goodson family of Richmond District, Raleigh County, who raised her. Her name may have been Leanor or Lenar. Or that could just be misspellings.
Who were Lena's parents? Her family thinks they weren't married and that Lena's mother died in childbirth. Her father may have been a Richmond.
Why did she live with the Goodsons? Any information will be appreciated.

Estimated Birth Year: abt 1848. Birthplace: Virginia.
Spouse's Name: Mary C.

“Mrs. Nanny Goodson was born at Beaver on March 12, 1894 and became the wife of Ollie Goodson. They had three children: Jessie Raymond, John Elvin and Beulah. Goodson arrived in the community carrying two chairs he had made with maple posts, hickory rungs and seats of split white oak. He approached Lawrence Lilly about selling the chairs and soon Lilly had more orders than Goodson could fill.
