This may seem obvious, but Wadestown was in
Monongalia Co. So if you are looking at cemetery readings for
Marion County no listings would be there for another County.
I do not have the published readings by WPA for
Battelle Dist., so can't comment further on what is or is not included among those listings.
In general, however, if the first headstones were erected in or after 1940 (when the local cemetery reading project ended), they could not have been included.
'Contact persons' for family cemeteries on private land would be the present land-owners, who may or may not be interested in inquiries about the cemeteries. No burial records were formally kept for these, not all graves were marked by durable gravestones, and old gravestones may have fallen, weathered to illegibility, broken and/or become buried by soil and sod over the decades. Some have been at least partly destroyed by storm and flood. Many family cemeteries have been plowed after an uncaring subsequent owner removed the markers; markers have been removed from a great many such over the years. In short, if you know where the cemetery is or was exactly, your solution may be to go there yourself and touch base with the present landowners, or arrange with someone else to do so.
